The Main Hall

Our main hall offers an unparalleled setting for your event, blending rustic charm with industrial aesthetics.
The high ceilings provide a spacious, airy atmosphere that can accommodate gatherings of all sizes, from intimate receptions to grand celebrations. Our main hall ensures that every occasion is both extraordinary and unforgettable.
The Courtyard
Capturing the warm afternoon sun, our outdoor courtyard offers a charming and versatile space, with it’s vintage walls and large industrial steel doors making it the perfect backdrop for alfresco dining or unwinding with guests over drinks during the afternoon or evening.
Marquee
For larger weddings and events, we offer the possibility of adding a marquee at the far end of the building, accommodating over 150+ guests. Choose from a variety of marquee styles and layouts tailored to make your special day truly memorable.
The Vault
Built within one of our historic vats in The Flaxmill, that once steamed flax for linen production. The Vault has been transformed into a luxurious whiskey lounge.
The space is elegantly furnished with dark wooden furniture and olive leather chesterfield sofas. Custom lighting has been artfully designed to maximize the unique walls and ceiling, creating the perfect ambiance for your next intimate gathering
Luxury Glamping
Whether you are planning an intimate wedding or a grand celebration, our premium luxury glamping options provide a unique and elegant touch that will leave a lasting impression. Each tent is thoughtfully designed with luxury hotel quality bedding and furnishings.

Meet the Team
Discover the rich history and legacy of a building that once processed flax into linen during wartime, before becoming part of Ben’s grandparents farm in the 1940's, and then passed down to Ben’s parents who transformed the old factory into and exquisite venue, embracing its natural charm.
Now owned by Ben Johnstone who grew up on The Flaxmill Estate and his husband Campbell Johnstone - former All Black. And with the support of Ben's parents Lin & Gerry Thomson
